Breathing Exercise Forum

July 5th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

"Breathing exercises for physical and mental fitness"

As we age, our breathing tends to become rapid and shallow, thereby providing insufficient supply of oxygen to our body. The insufficient oxygen causes fatigue, poor immune system and other physical dysfunctions. For centuries, pranayama yoga devotees have tried to manipulate their bodies using controlled breathing techniques. This workshop will demonstrate the use of breathing techniques as tools to orchestrate positive changes within our bodies and minds.

The workshop will first highlight the "Healing Power of Breathing" through a short presentation by Dr. Amruthesh Shivachar, PhD., Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, from the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Texas Southern University, Houston, TX.

The presentation is followed by on-stage demonstration of few powerful breathing exercises by our invited guest, Mr. Ram Shankaranarayanan, from "The Art of Living Foundation". Then the workshop participants will have the option to practice these easy-to-learn breathing exercises, or ask questions.

This workshop is mainly intended for young and adults to soothe his/her daily stress, insomnia and fatigue.
